Why Moping Your Tile and Grout Is Not Enough

Maintaining a high level of cleanliness, appearance and sanitation in restrooms can be very difficult even for cleaning professionals. This is true in commercial settings or in your home.

This is especially true where restrooms are heavily used, and often abused. An inexperienced person would think that all the tile and grout needs is a good moping. That might be true. But, over time moping is not enough.

Tile, and the grout used to anchor it to these surfaces, is Porous. Time, moisture, contaminants, dirt and mop water will eventually discolor the tile and grout, causing staining and odors, contributing to the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. When moping small amounts of water even dirty water are left behind. This also gets trapped in your grout. When you are moping a dirty floor the mop is pulling and lifting most of the dirt. Even a new mop with fresh water will leave some dirt behind.

Some believe that simply sealing tile and grout will prevent these problems from occurring, but while most tile and grout is sealed when installed in a commercial setting and can be resealed as necessary, the sealers eventually break down.

Very often, this happens because of the strong detergents and other chemicals used to clean the tile and grout areas especially floors. When this occurs, the cleaning problems begin and the surface areas end up looking un moped and dirty. The cleaning company will start getting complaints that they are not moping. When the exact opposite is the truth. Moping does not and will not remove all of the dirt.

In time in a factory, restaurant or in large facilities with restroom with 10 to 20 fixtures that are used 12 or 24 hours per day. You will need a deep clean with a powerful cleaner. This also applies to homeowners.

Restrooms often take more time to clean than any other area of a facility. Additionally, they get the most complaints.

Homeowners, Facility managers and Property Managers can take advantage of our tile and grout cleaning system to help make the tile and grout look new again.

Our system uses high-pressure water up to 1,200 psi to deep clean, loosen and remove soils.

Our truck mount units also heat the water to temperatures as high as 250 degrees Fahrenheit, which helps to sanitize and facilitate the cleaning process. These machines, which release large quantities of water at the tile and grout surface. Soils are loosened and vacuumed up in one pass, leaving no residue. Although some of these high-pressure machines are specifically designed for industrial cleaning situations, ours have variable psi, which allows them to be used on a variety of hard surfaces and for a variety of cleaning problems. Fortunately we have the solution to your tile and grout issues. Call and have us come by and quote the cleaning of yours today.
